A few recent campaigns have included:
- Voters were being asked to approve a developer’s request to rezone one of the last, large undeveloped properties in an Orange County city. The community relations plan centered on the negatives of the current zoning (higher density) and how the new zoning would actually mean less development and more open space preserved for residents. The measure passed with a large margin.
- Voters in a local city began collecting signatures to recall an incumbent city council member. Our job was to make sure the effort failed to collect enough signatures to get on the ballot. Endorsements were collected from community leaders and voters, focused on fundraising. Two pieces of mail encouraging voters not to sign the petition citing it as a waste of taxpayer money were sent citywide. In the end, the citizens circulating the petitions fell short of the needed signatures, and the recall failed to go to the ballot.
